We will draw explore facial features and draw an imaginary character. Students will be able to identify the shapes of different facial features and draw a portrait of an imaginary person.

Step 1
Demonstrate using lines and shapes to draw an imaginary person, using shape and line charts as reference for students.
- I wonder how can I draw an imaginary person?
- What are some different shapes I can use for the head?
- How big should I make it to fill my page?
- What shapes can I use for the facial features—the eyes, nose, and mouth?
- Model and describe the general proportions for each feature.
- What details should I add? What lines or shapes can I use to make these?
Step 2
Have students draw their own character.
