Overview
We will make a personal collage inspired by the mural or your own idea. Students will be able to make an individual collage based on the mural to take home.
Materials
- Extra painted paper
- Colored paper
- Black or colored paper – 9 x 12”
- Scissors
- Glue
- Resource: color photos of animals and habitat features
Activities
Step 1
Look at the mural as a group and share different parts that inspire.
Step 2
Have students make individual collages—cut, arrange, glue, and add a background.
Reflection
Students will talk and write about the new collages they made.
What part of the mural inspired you?
What did you notice about that part of the mural?
How did you show that part in your new collage?
