Overview
We will use small brushes to paint details on our sculptures. Students will understand how to use small flat and round brushes to paint details on their sculptures.

- Puppets
- Acrylic paint
- Large and small, flat and round paintbrushes
- Paper towels
- Sponges
Activities
Step 1
Discuss possible details for sculptures.
Step 2
Demonstrate mixing new colors and adding details using a small brush.
Step 3
Have students brainstorm possible details with a partner.
Step 4
Have students mix colors and paint details.
Reflection
Students will turn and talk with a partner to share ideas about their character’s personality.
Writing Prompt (Optional):
Students will write what they shared with their partner using sentence starters. Students will draft the beginning of their final writing pieces using sentence starters.
