Overview
We will paint large areas of our sculptures by dabbing and using large brush strokes. Students will be able to blend and mix colors to cover big areas of their sculptures.
Materials
- Acrylic paint
- Large paintbrushes
- Paper towels
Activities
Step 1
Discuss choosing colors for sculptures. Will colors be realistic, symbolic, or express a feeling?
Step 2
Revisit color mixing and demonstrate making one to two colors to paint large areas of sculpture. Demonstrate brush washing.
Step 3
Have students paint large areas of sculpture. They will mix colors as they proceed.
