Overview
In this clay exploration unit, kindergarten students will discover the properties and potential of clay as a tactile medium. They will learn to manipulate clay using their hands as tools, create three-dimensional forms, and understand the concept of sculpture.

Materials and Tools
- White paper, 80 lb., 12×18″
- Assortment of pre-cut strips of construction paper
- Assortment of pre-cut strips of corrugated paper (optional)
- Trays
- Soufflé cups of glue
- Craft sticks
- Gray self-hardening clay
- Wire clay cutter
- Deli containers
- Sponges
- Cardboard square base
- Canvas or other covering to lay on the floor during engagement
- Plastic scraper for clean up
- Table covers (optional)
- 4-5 deli containers with a mix of glue and water (optional)
- Paintbrushes (optional)
- Red, yellow, and blue paint in cups (optional)
